Meng Zhang

Meng Zhang is a Researcher at the Department of Business Law, Lund University School of Economics and Management (LUSEM), specializing in the intersection of environmental law and trade law in the context of climate change. He also holds multiple international affiliations including as an EU Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the Centre for Climate Change Law and Governance at the University of Copenhagen, an affiliated researcher at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights, and a guest researcher at Ghent University.

His educational background includes a PhD in Law (Environmental Law) from Ghent University (Belgium) in 2021, with a dissertation titled 'Governance of Climate Technologies: the Role of International Environmental Law in Regulating and Facilitating Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS)'.

Zhang's research focuses on critical issues at the nexus of climate policy and international trade law, particularly examining the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) from multiple dimensions - from its legal justifications to its broader geopolitical implications.
