Meng Wang, Ph.D. is a Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and an Investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. She holds the Robert C. Fyfe Endowed Chair on Aging and serves as Associate Director of the Genetics and Genomics Graduate Program. Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms governing aging, lipid metabolism, and reproductive senescence using Caenorhabditis elegans models.
Dr. Wang's laboratory employs advanced technologies such as hyperspectral stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) microscopy for in vivo metabolite dynamics and high-throughput screening platforms. Key discoveries include lysosome-to-nucleus lipid signaling pathways and bacterial-host mitochondrial communication mechanisms.
