Melissa Palos Ladeiro is a Lecturer at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne, affiliated with the College of Exact and Natural Sciences. Her research focuses on immunomarkers in environmental biomonitoring, particularly in continental aquatic ecosystems, and spans four main axes: the role of immunomarkers in biomonitoring, scaling immunomarker responses, immune reactions under multiple pressures, and the regulation of immunomarkers in invertebrates. She leads interdisciplinary projects such as ORION, VENDETTA, and SENTINEL, collaborating with institutions like U. Namur, U. Liège, INERIS, ACTALIA, ISSeP, UMR 7564 LCPME, and INRAE Lyon.
- Axe 1: Innate immunity responses in biomonitoring of aquatic environments (individual/conditional/spatio-temporal variability).
- Axe 2: Cellular and plasma-level immune responses in bivalves, with cross-species applications.
- Axe 3: Impact of chemical and biological stressors on immunomarkers and their interactions.
- Axe 4: Interplay between immunity, nutrition, microbiota balance, and endocrine/reproductive systems in bivalves.
She is also Director of UMR-I 02 SEBIO since 2024 and actively participates in scientific societies, including SEFA (since 2025) and EXEBIO (since 2023). Her work integrates ecological stressors, microbial contamination, and proteomic approaches using species like Dreissena polymorpha and Mytilus edulis as sentinel organisms.
