Melissa Norberg is a Professor in the School of Psychological Sciences at Macquarie University, affiliated with the Lifespan Health and Wellbeing Research Centre. She is a registered psychologist with clinical endorsement and a board-approved supervisor. Her research focuses on anxiety, OCD, hoarding disorder, substance use, overconsumption, and exposure therapy. She has held leadership roles, including Director of the Centre for Emotional Health and National President of the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy.

Research Interests: Dr. Norberg investigates hoarding disorder, object attachment, compulsive buying, and the psychological mechanisms underlying anxiety and substance use. She develops and evaluates interventions for these conditions, including digital tools and community programs.
Recent Contributions: Recent work includes studies on cognitive restructuring in exposure therapy, brief hoarding assessment tools, and interventions to reduce overconsumption. Articles span behavioral addictions, clinical psychology, and digital health innovations.
