Melissa Marques-McEwan is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Sciences within the Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University. She holds a PhD and is affiliated with the university's research initiatives on Circular Economy and Sustainable Development Goals. Her work bridges economic, business, and environmental systems.
Her research focuses on Circular Economy strategies, supply chain sustainability, and business model innovation. Key areas include circular business ecosystems, regional implementation challenges, and financial performance linkages. She has contributed to knowledge exchange initiatives in Scotland and Germany.
Recent publications explore Scotland’s circular economy potential, German business reporting practices, and chemical industry case studies. Her work emphasizes practical solutions for sustainable economic models.
