Melissa Malde is a Professor of Music at the School of Music, part of the College of Performing and Visual Arts at the University of Northern Colorado. She holds a doctoral degree in Vocal Performance and Opera Stage Directing, and her work focuses on Body Mapping and Art Songs in Hebrew. She has presented internationally and authored key texts in vocal pedagogy.

Her research explores Body Mapping to enhance vocal technique and the historical and cultural significance of Hebrew art songs. She integrates physiology with performance coaching and has developed workshops on tension-free singing.
Melissa’s publications span music pedagogy, opera production, and cross-cultural music studies. She has presented at national conferences and contributed to journals on applying body awareness in vocal training.
