Melissa Fielding is a Researcher in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Palliative and End of Life Care Group in Cambridge (PELiCam) within the Primary Care Unit (PCU).

Research Interests: Fielding's work critically examines social and spatial inequalities, post-austerity political economy, and the governance of health, illness, death, and dying through the lens of social reproduction and care systems. Her research investigates shifting welfare landscapes using feminist and critical geographical frameworks, with particular focus on how institutional restructuring impacts palliative care delivery and general practitioner roles in community settings.
Current Project: As a Research Associate in PeliCam, she investigates evolving palliative care landscapes under institutional restructuring, analyzing how general practitioners navigate changing responsibilities and healthcare policy shifts through qualitative methodologies.
