Melissa Fickling

Melissa Fickling is an Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling and Higher Education at Northern Illinois University, part of the College of Education. Her scholarly interests include advocacy and social justice, the history and philosophy of counseling, clinical supervision, career counseling, and addiction and co-occurring disorders.

Fickling has practiced professional counseling in higher education, community mental health, and private practice settings. She serves on the editorial review board for Career Development Quarterly and ACES Teaching Practice Briefs, and as an ad hoc reviewer for other journals.
