Ami Crowley

Ami Crowley serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Counselor Education Department at The Chicago School's College of Professional Psychology. She holds multiple leadership roles including Faculty Co-Advisor for Theta Chi Sigma (Chi Sigma Iota chapter) and Faculty Advisor for PRIDE+, an online campus-wide student group dedicated to LGBTQ+ inclusiveness. Crowley also serves on the University Student Community Standards Committee, Clinical Training Committee, and Student Advising Committee.

Her educational background includes a Doctorate of Education in Counselor Education & Supervision from Argosy University (2014), Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Shippensburg University (2003), and Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Shippensburg University (2000).

Crowley specializes in addiction/substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, mental health counseling, and LGBTQ+ specific issues. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes student-centered learning where students are equal partners in the educational process, with multi-modal approaches tailored to adult online learners. She believes psychology provides essential insights into human behavior that connect our past, present, and future.

Professionally, she maintains a private practice serving individuals, couples, and families while providing community training to businesses, schools, and community groups. Her work strongly emphasizes diversity, social justice, and advocacy.
