Melissa Diamond is a postdoctoral research fellow at Queen's University in the Department of Physics, Engineering Physics, and Astronomy, specializing in Particle Astrophysics and Dark Matter phenomenology. She is affiliated with the Arthur B. McDonald Canadian Astroparticle Physics Research Institute and collaborates with Prof. A. Vincent and Prof. Joe Bramante on astrophysical compact objects as probes for dark matter. Her work explores Standard Model loop interactions and dark matter models with purely gravitational coupling.
Education:
- PhD in Physics from Johns Hopkins University (2022)
Research Focus:
- Particle astrophysics and dark matter phenomenology using neutron stars and white dwarfs
- Primordial black holes and their implications for dark matter detection
- Heavy composite dark matter structures and Standard Model interactions
- Gravitational-only dark matter models and detector observability
