Melissa Cardon is the James A. II & Natalie L. Haslam Distinguished Professorship in Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee's Haslam College of Business. She holds the Clark Family Faculty Fellow position and leads research in entrepreneurial psychology, focusing on passion, emotion, persistence, and stress management. Her work bridges organizational behavior and entrepreneurship, addressing topics like failure recovery, team dynamics, and venture success factors.
Education: Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Columbia University; MBA and B.A. from Case Western Reserve University.
Research interests include entrepreneurial passion diversity, emotional coping mechanisms, and the psychological underpinnings of venture success. Key areas: how entrepreneurs navigate stress, resource acquisition, and exit strategies.
