Melis Esther

Melis Esther is a Researcher at the Institute of Archaeology, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, specializing in the Early and Middle Bronze Age of Transdanubia. Her work focuses on material culture (particularly ceramics), social archaeology, bioarchaeological analysis of burials, and regional/microregional topography. She is affiliated with the Austrian Society for Prehistoric and Protohistoric Archaeology and the European Association of Archaeologists.

• Education: Archaeologist and Historian degrees from Eötvös Loránd University of Science, Faculty of Humanities (2002–2009).

Research Interests include the study of ceramic finds to trace cultural changes, secondary mortuary practices, and the social dynamics of Bronze Age Transdanubia. Her fieldwork involves excavation projects in sites like Csorna, Győr, and Lövő, covering periods from Neolithic to Roman eras.

Scientific Awards include scholarships at the University of Vienna (2006–2007, 2017). She participates in international research programs such as the MTA Lendület Program (2015–2020) and local initiatives like the Jászdózsa Község Önkormányzat project (2018–2019).
