Melina Götze is a Research Fellow and doctoral student at the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology, Goethe University Frankfurt, since 2023. She completed her BA in Social and Cultural Anthropology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (2020) and an MA in Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Bayreuth.

Her research focuses on political anthropology, transnationalism, and citizenship. She examines how temporary residency status affects belonging and bureaucratic practices, using phenomenological and lifeworld approaches.
Key research themes: border processes, anthropology of the state, affective dimensions of citizenship, and contested political identities.
