Dr. Markus Lindner is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Ethnology, part of Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. He provides academic advisory services for BA, MA, and doctoral students.

Research Interests focus on Indigenous North America, particularly the Plains and Lakota communities, examining contemporary politics/law, cultural representation in tourism, material culture, museums, historical photography, and modern art. His work analyzes how Indigenous cultures navigate colonial legacies, tourist commodification, and self-representation.
Publications trend toward museum studies (e.g., World Fragments collection analysis), cultural tourism (tribal economies), and Indigenous art markets. He emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches bridging anthropology, historical context, and visual culture.
Exhibition Curation includes co-organizing the Herbarium of Culture (2011) and Postered! Reflections on Indigenous North America (2019–2020), as well as virtual projects like The Wanderers (2021). He actively participates in academic networks like the American Indian Workshop and collaborates on documentary films.
