Melany Nagen

Melany Nagen is a Law Lecturer at the Middlesex University Mauritius Campus, part of the Middlesex University Overseas Campuses. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Hertfordshire (UK) and completed the Bar Professional Training Course at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Called to the Bar of England and Wales (2012) and the Supreme Court of Mauritius (2014), she practiced as a criminal barrister before transitioning to academia. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (2021) and is an accredited Civil & Commercial Mediator (ADR Group, UK).

Her research focuses on Corporate Governance. She teaches modules including English Legal System, Contract Law, EU/UK Human Rights Law, Business Law, and Child & Family Law. Previously, she worked as a part-time lecturer at the University of Technology, Mauritius (2015–2019), and as a self-employed barrister specializing in criminal law. Earlier roles include Administrative Director at La Mechanisation de Nagen Ltée (2005–2007).
