Melanie L. Marshall is a Lecturer in Music at University College Cork (UCC), where she has held a permanent faculty position since 2005. She specializes in musicology with a focus on gender, sexuality, and early modern Italian music. Her research explores intersections of music with identities, culture, and historical context, particularly in Renaissance and Baroque periods. She holds a PhD in Music from the University of Southampton and has conducted extensive interdisciplinary work through fellowships and grants, including a Marie Curie Fellowship (2011–2014).
