Melanie Bryon

Melanie Bryon (She/Her/Hers) serves as the Interim Dean of Children’s Programs and Head of School for Bank Street College of Education’s School for Children during the 2025–26 academic year. With over 25 years of educational experience, including 14 years in K–8 public school administration, she previously held roles as principal and superintendent at Harlem Village Academy and principal at Community Partnership Charter School in Brooklyn.

Her academic leadership focuses on refining learning profiles, enhancing student support services, and guiding curriculum shifts in reading, mathematics, and social studies. She emphasizes inclusive education environments and collaborates closely with faculty, families, and specialists to address the cognitive, social, and emotional needs of students. Melanie holds a BA in Inclusive Education from Syracuse University and an MA in Educational Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.
