Meisha Whitlock Adderley is a pianist and educator affiliated with Furman University's Department of Music. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) and Master of Music from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Education from the University of Sydney, and a Bachelor of Music from Indiana State University. Her roles include teaching piano, performing internationally, and researching keyboard pedagogy.
Dr. Whitlock's performances span the U.S., Italy, Australia, Africa, and London. She has won prestigious awards such as the Paul W. Hagan Concerto Competition and served as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. Her pedagogical work includes presentations at conferences like the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy and the College Music Society. Publications appear in Music Educators Journal and Southern Music Education Journal.
Her research focuses on innovative teaching methods and global music education. She has received over $320,000 in grants, including leadership roles in major arts programs. A highlight of her career is the Piano Duo Project album, praised by Fanfare Magazine for its technical precision and artistry.
