Professor Mehmet Yavuz is affiliated with the Faculty of Arts at Karadeniz Technical University, where he leads the Department of Art History. He also coordinates archaeological excavations at Trabzon İç Kale since September 2021.
- Education: PhD in Art History from Ruhr University Bochum (2006), MA in Art History and Archaeology from Ruhr University Bochum (2001), BA in Art History from Atatürk University (1993).
His research focuses on Ottoman architecture, railway architecture, Turkish-German cultural relations, Ottoman painting, and 19th-century European art. He has contributed to these fields through publications and projects.
Scientific Awards:
- DAAD Doctoral Scholarship (2002).
A former Department Head at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University and Acting Cultural Attaché at the Turkish Consulate in Munich, he has extensive academic and administrative experience.
