Mehmet UYMAZ is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education, Faculty of Education, Sakarya University. He actively contributes to teaching, research, and educational projects focused on social studies, future literacy, and digital technologies in education.

His research interests include social studies education, artificial intelligence in education, future literacy, measurement and evaluation, and cultural heritage. He explores how students and teachers perceive global issues, future scenarios, and scientific validity, often employing qualitative methods such as metaphor analysis and textbook evaluation.
His recent publications span topics such as AI in teacher education, future perceptions among students, science-pseudoscience distinction, and assessment practices in social studies. These works reflect a strong engagement with contemporary educational challenges and pedagogical innovation.

Mehmet UYMAZ has received recognition for his academic leadership, including awards for student community contributions. He serves as an academic advisor and has supervised multiple TÜBİTAK 2209-A projects. He is also involved in editorial and peer review activities for international journals.
He leads the SAÜ Kültürel Miras Öğrenci Topluluğu as Academic Chairman and has coordinated Farabi, Erasmus, and Mevlana exchange programs. His involvement in international projects like Erasmus+ 'Learning in Difficult Times' and TÜBİTAK 3005 highlights his collaborative research efforts.
