Mehmet Altuğ ŞAHİN is an Assistant Professor at Istanbul University's Faculty of Economics, Department of Tourism Management, and holds a concurrent researcher position at Universidade de Aveiro's Department of Economics, Management, Industrial Engineering and Tourism (2025). His academic journey includes a Doctorate (2019) and Postgraduate degree (2012) in Tourism Management from Istanbul University, and an Undergraduate degree in Tourism Management from Akdeniz University (2010).
His research focuses on interdisciplinary applications at the intersection of tourism management, artificial intelligence, and educational innovation. Primary domains include revenue management optimization, bibliometric analysis of tourism trends, AI integration in social sciences pedagogy, and sustainable destination development. Recent work emphasizes technology-enhanced learning methodologies in hospitality education.
