Mehdi Ghazinour is a Professor at Södertörn University, serving as Head of the School of Police Studies and leading the development of police research and education in Sweden. He has held prominent roles including Director of Research Environment at Umeå University's Police Education and Director of the Center for Police Research and Development at Linnaeus University.
His research focuses on mental health, well-being, and resilience within police science, particularly examining stress management and social support systems for police officers and students. He pioneered the Police Stress Identification Questionnaire (PSIQ) and a multisystemic theoretical model for police work, with international collaborations across Sweden, USA, Canada, Australia, Colombia, South Africa, Malaysia, Ukraine, and Iran.
As Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editor of the Journal of Police Studies, he shapes scholarly discourse in police research. His leadership in multidisciplinary teams has advanced cross-cultural exchanges and knowledge-sharing initiatives globally.
