Dr Megan Wyatt is a Researcher at the Geller Institute of Ageing and Memory, University of Wales Trinity Saint David. Her work focuses on leveraging creativity—particularly art and music interventions—to improve communication and quality of life for people living with dementia and their care partners. She has secured funding from programs like The National Lottery People and Places Programme, Countess Eleanor Peel Trust, and Nesta, and led projects such as a 2-year hospital-based arts program in North Wales.
Her research explores remote delivery of arts interventions to combat isolation among dementia patients, emphasizing the transformative potential of creative practices in healthcare settings. She has also developed communication-skills courses for caregivers, emphasizing peer facilitation and qualitative frameworks to enhance care interactions. Megan’s interdisciplinary projects bridge arts, healthcare, and social sciences, with a focus on stakeholder collaboration and community impact.
Her work spans dementia care innovation, caregiver education, and advocacy for patient voices. She contributes to teaching in PhD programs in Ageing Research and Dementia Studies, integrating research into academic training.
