Megan Pratt, PhD, is an Assistant Professor (Practice) in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences at Oregon State University’s College of Health. She leads the Oregon Child Care Research Partnership, focused on evaluating child care policy and supporting families of young children through community-based research. Her work bridges academia, policy, and practice, addressing systemic challenges in early learning access and workforce stability.
Key affiliations include the Hallie E. Ford Center for Healthy Children & Families and the Early Learning System Initiative. Her research emphasizes child care deserts, workforce retention, and equitable policy solutions. She has testified before U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren and contributed to a $14.4 million statewide grant for early childhood education (2024).
Notable collaborations include the Oregon Department of Education’s Early Learning Division and the Child Care and Education Researchers Roundtable.
