Megan Milks is a Visiting Instructor in the Department of Writing at Pratt Institute's School of Liberal Arts & Sciences. She also teaches at The New School and the Low-Residency Creative Writing MFA program at Pacific Northwest College of Art. Her work bridges creative writing, queer theory, and feminist studies.
Education: PhD in English Studies (Creative Writing concentration) from the University of Illinois at Chicago, MA in Literature & Creative Writing from Temple University, and BA in English & Cognitive Science from the University of Virginia.
Research & Writing: Known for her Lambda Literary Award-nominated novel Margaret and the Mystery of the Missing Body, short story collection Slug and Other Stories, and nonfiction Tori Amos Bootleg Webring (2021). Her edited volumes include Asexualities: Feminist and Queer Perspectives (2014, 2024) and We Are the Baby-Sitters Club (2021). Her essays appear in The New York Times, Bookforum, and DIAGRAM.
Themes: Explores transgender narratives, asexuality, queer identity, and pop culture fandom. Her work often merges experimental prose with personal and political critique.
