Dr. Megan Janke is a Professor of Kinesiology at Berry College, specializing in health promotion for aging populations through recreational interventions. She holds certifications as a recreational therapist and gerontologist.
Education: Ph.D. in Gerontology from University of Georgia (2005); M.S. in Recreational Therapy from Clemson University (2000); B.S. in Recreational Therapy from University of Florida (1998).
Research focuses on leisure-based interventions for chronic disease prevention, fall prevention, and intergenerational programs for dementia care. She explores how gardening, Tai Chi, and structured physical activities improve mobility and quality of life for older adults. Her work also addresses work-family conflict mitigation through leisure activities.
