Megan Hedgelon is an Adjunct Professor at Marywood University's Department of Biology, specializing in biology and biotechnology. She completed a five-year combined Bachelor's and Master's in Biotechnology, graduating from Marywood University. Her academic journey involved shifting from a secondary education track to a pre-med focus, driven by coursework in medicinal chemistry and mentorship from faculty like Dr. Deanna Garver and Dr. Lisa Antonacci.
Her research interests center on pharmacology and genetic studies, particularly her role as a graduate research assistant investigating the HTZ1 gene's role in cohesion defects under Dr. Antonacci. She currently teaches microbiology to nursing students while preparing to transition into a clinical laboratory technician role at a pharmaceutical company.
Megan’s career aspirations include becoming a clinical research associate and eventually returning to academia as an instructor.
