Megan Griffin is a Professor in the Department of Education at Whitworth University since 2018. Her academic focus centers on special education, particularly inclusion of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (ID/DD) in academic and community settings. She holds a Ph.D. in Special Education from Vanderbilt University, an M.Ed. in Elementary Education from the University of Notre Dame, and a B.A. in English with minors in Theology and Gender Studies from Notre Dame.
Her research emphasizes applied behavior analysis (ABA), self-determination for disabled individuals, and postsecondary educational access for ID/DD students. Notable work includes developing peer mentorship programs for college students with disabilities and analyzing bullying experiences among those with Williams syndrome or FASD. She has authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters since 2010.
Griffin’s publications consistently address transition planning for students with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities, advocating for inclusive policy frameworks in education and faith-based communities. Her work bridges clinical interventions with systemic advocacy, emphasizing practical solutions for disability inclusion across life stages.
