Megan Greene is the Associate Vice Provost for International & Global Engagement and a Professor of History at the University of Kansas. Her research focuses on scientific and technical development in mid-20th century China and Taiwan, with a recent emphasis on Sino-American collaboration during the 1940s. She is currently investigating industrial standardization in 20th-century China.
Administratively, she has held roles including Associate Chair of the Department of History (2020–2022), Director of Faculty Programs in International Affairs (2017–2020), and Director of the Center for East Asian Studies (2009–2015). She also served as University Senate President (2011–2012) and co-chair of KU's ACE Internationalization Lab (2020–2022).
Her work emphasizes curricular and faculty internationalization. She collaborates with faculty to integrate global perspectives into teaching and research.
Her book Building a Nation at War (2022) explores Sino-American efforts to build China's scientific capacity during WWII. Current projects include studies on industrial standardization in China's modern history.
