Megan Dixon is a part-time doctoral researcher and visiting researcher at the School of Psychology, University of Sussex. She is also a research assistant and an expert in literacy development, focusing on reading comprehension, educational psychology, and implementation science.

Research Interests include translating reading comprehension research into classroom practice, supporting low-attaining students, and exploring behavioral science in education. Her recent work emphasizes the integration of phonological awareness, morphology, and higher-order comprehension skills in literacy instruction.
Conference Participation highlights her presentations at SSSR 2024 (Copenhagen), LICIE 2025, and BERA 2025. Her thesis on teacher professional knowledge and reading comprehension was published in 2025.
Publications include studies on gender and reading for pleasure, language and literacy research-practice integration, and emotional engagement in learning. She contributed to the Learning to Teach in the Primary School (5th Edition) by designing supplementary materials.
Professional Roles encompass being a specialist literacy teacher, consultant, and trainer with 20 years of experience. She serves as Director of Literacy at a MAT, Research and Development Lead for the Aspirer Teaching School, and Director of a Research School, focusing on school improvement and evidence-based teaching.
