Megan Crowley-Matoka is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Education at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Anthropology. She serves as Director of Graduate Studies for the MA Program in Medical Humanities and Bioethics.

Her research spans sociocultural and medical anthropology, focusing on clinical power, biotechnology, subjectivity, citizenship, and ethics in medicine. She has conducted fieldwork in Mexico and the U.S., examining organ transplantation and pain management practices.
Her publications analyze healthcare disparities, gendered donation dynamics, and the moral economies of medicine. Awards include grants from the Fulbright Fellowship, National Science Foundation, and Greenwall Foundation. Her 2016 book Domesticating Organ Transplant explores transplantation's cultural integration and ethical implications in Mexico.
