Her research centers on material aspects of Victorian literature, analyzing domestic environments as narrative tools for depicting interiority in works by Charles Dickens, Charlotte Brontë, George Eliot, and E.M. Forster. Additional specialties include homelessness in Victorian literature, women's contributions to architectural discourse, and pedagogical approaches to teaching Dickens's short stories. Current projects examine British domestic spaces during the colonial era of the Empire.
