Mecit Çelik

Dr. Mecit Çelik is a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at Istanbul Technical University. His expertise focuses on structural analysis, particularly in the areas of plates, two-parameter elastic foundations, and finite element methods. He has contributed to research on seismic damage assessment of reinforced concrete and masonry buildings, as well as historical structure preservation using innovative materials like textile-reinforced mortar (TRM). His work integrates geotechnical engineering principles with structural mechanics to enhance building resilience against seismic forces.

Research Interests: Structural analysis of plates and foundations, finite element modeling, soil-structure interaction, historical building preservation, and earthquake engineering. He has advised numerous graduate theses on topics such as foundation parameter determination, seismic retrofitting of historical brick walls, and structural statics analysis.
