Meagen Rosenthal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Administration at the University of Mississippi's School of Pharmacy and Director of the Community First Research Center for Wellbeing and Creative Achievement (CREW). She specializes in implementation science, community-based participatory research, and advancing community pharmacy practice. Dr. Rosenthal co-founded the Community Wellbeing Flagship Constellation Initiative in 2019 and co-created CREW with Annie Cafer, PhD. Her work focuses on addressing healthcare disparities, improving patient-centered research design, and fostering collaboration between communities and academic institutions.
Education: M.A. in Sociology (2008) and Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine (2014), both from the University of Alberta, Canada.
Research interests include rural pharmacy challenges, antimicrobial stewardship, food insecurity interventions, and the impact of pharmacy benefit managers. Her studies often emphasize qualitative methods and participatory approaches to ensure research relevance to communities.
Key contributions include developing food prescription programs to combat health disparities and analyzing pharmacist roles in opioid overdose prevention. She has led national and international studies on pharmacy practice transformation and healthcare access in underserved areas.
