McKenzie Wark is a Professor of Culture and Media at Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts, The New School, and Program Director of Gender Studies (fall 2023). Their work focuses on critical theory, media studies, and transgender studies, blending interdisciplinary approaches to analyze contemporary culture. Wark holds BA, MA, PhD, and FAHA qualifications.
Research interests include media theory, new media, critical theory, cinema, music, and visual art. Notable works include Raving (2023), Philosophy for Spiders (2021), and Molecular Red (2015). Awards include the 2019 Thoma Foundation Arts Writing Award in Digital Art and Australian Academy of Humanities fellowship.
Teaches courses like Autofiction, Autotheory, Gender and Its Discontents, and Introduction to Cultural Studies. Active in independent study supervision and interdisciplinary pedagogy. Current research explores queer/trans rave culture and transdisciplinary theory.
