Alex Brostoff is an Assistant Professor of English at Kenyon College, with affiliations in Gender and Sexuality Studies, American Studies, and the Latinx Studies Concentration. They hold the 2019-20 Gardner Fellowship. Their translations of Indigenous leader Ailton Krenak's works (Polity Press, 2023-2024) explore environmental and cultural themes.
Research interests include critical frameworks for autotheory, transnational queer narratives, and decolonial translation practices. Their scholarship appears in ASAP/Journal, Critical Times, and the South Atlantic Quarterly, alongside exhibitions at MoMA.
Notable awards include the Gardner Fellowship. While no grants or advising details are specified, their work engages deeply with interdisciplinary collaborations across literary studies, activism, and translation.
