Caro De Robertis is a Professor of Creative Writing at San Francisco State University and award-winning author of six novels. Their literary work has been translated into eighteen languages and received honors including two Stonewall Book Awards, the John Dos Passos Prize, and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship.
Their research encompasses queer literature, oral history methodologies, and literary translation. Notable works include So Many Stars (2025), capturing oral histories of trans elders of color; The Palace of Eros (2024), a queer reimagining of Greek myth; and Cantoras (2019), exploring queer resistance during Uruguay's dictatorship.
As a 2022 Baldwin-Emerson Fellow, they documented oral histories of queer and trans BIPOC elders. Their literary translations include award-winning works from Spanish and Latin American authors.
