Maël Lecoursonnais is a Research Fellow affiliated with the Department of Management and Engineering (IEI) and the Institute for Analytical Sociology (IAS) at Linköping University. His research focuses on spatial inequalities and activity spaces, employing causal inference and machine learning methods. He utilizes Swedish register data combined with innovative sources like OpenStreetMap to explore how spatial patterns and mobility influence life chances, including education, criminality, and employment opportunities.
He is part of the 'Register-based Machine Learning' research project and the Swedish Network for Register-Based Research. His current position includes collaboration with the IAS, which addresses critical societal issues through sociological research. Supervisors include Maria Brandén (Professor, Head of Division) and Adel Daoud (Senior Associate Professor).
