Dr. Mazen Masri is a Senior Lecturer at The City Law School, City, University of London, where he has been teaching since September 2013. He previously taught at the University of Toronto and York University in Canada. His academic and professional work bridges law, politics, and social justice, with a focus on the Middle East.

Mazen Masri's research centers on constitutional law, public international law, human rights, and the theory and practice of academic freedom. He has a particular interest in comparative constitutionalism and the impact of settler-colonialism on legal frameworks, especially in the context of Israel and the Palestinian territories. His work critically examines the interaction between legal systems and broader socio-political and economic structures.
His publications, including his 2017 book The Dynamics of Exclusionary Constitutionalism, reveal a consistent scholarly trajectory exploring exclusion, identity, and law. The articles show a deep engagement with themes of human rights, constitutional identity, nationality, and the legal challenges faced by minorities. Dr. Masri welcomes PhD supervision in public law, public international law, and international human rights, with a special focus on the Middle East. His professional experience includes working as a lawyer and consultant, and serving as a legal advisor to the Negotiations Affairs Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). He maintains active links with civil society, serving on the Advisory Board of the European Legal Support Center (ELSC) and the Advisory Group of the Britain Palestine Media Centre.
He is a qualified member of the Israeli Bar Association.
