Dr. Mayra Picos-Lee serves as Senior Lecturer in Counseling and Director of the MTS in Latino/a Ministries at Palmer Seminary, Eastern University. A Mexican native with extensive cross-continental teaching experience, she integrates pastoral care with social justice advocacy across Latino communities in North and South America.
Her scholarly focus centers on:
- Immigration dynamics and their theological implications
- Decolonizing ministry practices through Latin American travel courses
- Interfaith peacebuilding rooted in Christian hospitality
- Therapeutic approaches for bicultural families and disempowered populations
As Board President of Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America~Bautistas por la Paz, she mobilizes congregations toward justice-centered peacemaking. Her private marriage and family therapy practice in Devon, PA specifically serves immigrants and historically marginalized groups. Through the MTS Latino/a Ministries program, she cultivates seminarians' capacity to address globalization, colonialism, and economic inequality within theological education.
