Dr. Maya N. Clark-Cutaia is the inaugural Evelyn Lauder Associate Dean for Nurse Practitioner Programs and Professor at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing, Hunter College. A nurse scientist and health equity researcher, her work focuses on the syndemic aspects of chronic illness, particularly examining how racism, discrimination, and social determinants of health influence symptom burden and clinical outcomes in minoritized populations. She maintains an interdisciplinary research program centered on chronic kidney disease disparities, employing qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches.

She holds a PhD in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh (2012), with postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania (2014).
