Fr Max Kramer is an Official Fellow and Chaplain at Keble College, University of Oxford. His work bridges Classics, Theology, and Jewish Studies, with a focus on Hellenistic Judaism and ancient Greek texts authored by Jewish writers. He co-founded the research seminar Being Jewish: Writing Greek at Cambridge, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue between Classicists and Theologians. His research often centers on The Exagoge, a second-century BCE Greek tragedy about the Exodus, exploring its poetics and cultural identity themes.

He leads the Being Jewish: Writing Greek initiative, which culminated in an international conference in 2017. His current role at Keble combines pastoral care and academic fellowship.
