Max Frischknecht is a Lecturer in Data Design & Art at Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art. He teaches within the BA Visual Communication program and researches digital culture archives through computational approaches. Frischknecht holds a Master in Design Research from Bern University of the Arts and is currently a PhD candidate in Digital Humanities at the University of Bern.
His research examines generative design methodologies for interpreting cultural archives, notably through the SNF-Sinergia project 'Participatory Research in Analogue and Digital Image Archives' (PIA). As a 2023 MIT Comparative Media Studies researcher, he contributed to the Active Archives Initiative exploring digital preservation strategies.
