Jonas Leysieffer

Jonas Leysieffer is a Lecturer at the Lucerne School of Design, Film and Art within the BA Product Design department. His research focuses on material culture, particularly the intersection of design and cultural history. He holds a Master's in Art History and Educational Sciences from the University of Bern (2013) after studies in Tübingen and Berlin.

His teaching portfolio includes courses on 19th/20th century design history, textile history, exhibition curation, and product design theory. Notable research projects include reconstructing the Bavarian Wittelsbach tapestry collection and studying industrialization's impact on mass-produced consumer goods.

Leysieffer has worked as a museum educator at Kunstmuseum Basel and Augusta Raurica, collaborated with the Swiss Social Archives, and contributed to SNF-funded research on interior spaces. His work bridges historical analysis with contemporary design discourse through exhibitions and academic publications.
