Jonas Berthod

Dr. Jonas Berthod serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Graphic Design at Kingston School of Art, Kingston University, while also working as a post-doctoral researcher and artistic associate. He co-organizes the London-based exhibition Behind the Books and maintains active roles in academic and artistic communities.

His educational qualifications include:

• BA in Graphic Design from ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne, Switzerland
• MA in Visual Communication from the Royal College of Art, London
• PhD in Art History from the University of Bern, Switzerland, focusing on cultural promotion's impact on Swiss graphic design

Research interests center on Graphic Design and Art History with specialization in Visual Communication, Cultural Promotion, Swiss Graphic Design, and Exhibition Curation. His work integrates academic scholarship with practical design experience, notably through four years of co-curating the Weltformat Symposium in Lucerne.

Prior professional engagements include graphic design work at Atelier Dyakova, John Morgan studio, and Studio Veronica Ditting, alongside visiting lecturer positions across UK and Swiss institutions. He contributed as associate researcher to the SNSF project "Swiss Graphic Design and Typography Revisited" (2016–2020).
