Max Crowley is a Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies and Public Policy at The Pennsylvania State University, where he serves as Director of the Prevention Research Center (PRC) and the Evidence-to-Impact Collaborative. His work bridges social policy, prevention science, and public finance, focusing on optimizing investments in evidence-based preventive strategies to improve child and family well-being.
His research emphasizes strengthening methods for benefit-cost analyses, enhancing preventive intervention impacts, and translating these insights into policy. Current projects include cost analysis of social programs, policy engagement training, and intergenerational studies of preventive interventions.
Crowley’s work is funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, National Institute of Nursing Research, National Institute of Child Health & Human Development, National Institute on Aging, and foundations including Robert Wood Johnson, Laura & John Arnold, and Doris Duke Charitable Foundations. He actively mentors graduate and postdoctoral trainees.
