Mauro Banchero

Mauro Banchero is an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT), Polytechnic University of Turin, and a key member of the SMAC (Supercritical Fluids and Materials Chemistry) research group. His academic journey began with a Chemical Engineering degree (1995) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering (1998).

Research Interests span supercritical fluid applications in pharmaceuticals, food technology, and materials science, with emphasis on phase equilibria, thermodynamic modeling, and process intensification. His work includes reactor design, supercritical extraction, and innovative biodiesel production from renewable sources.

Recent Publications highlight advancements in supercritical CO2-based drug delivery, hybrid silica-cyclodextrin materials, and hemostatic medical devices. These studies align with UN SDG 3 (Good Health) and SDG 9 (Innovation).
