Maurizio Ferrera is Professor of Political Science at the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Milano. He has held positions at various institutions, including the University of Pavia (1984-2003), Bocconi University of Milan (1994-2003), and European University Institute. He has been a columnist for Corriere della Sera since 2003 and serves on the jury of the Skytte Prize (Upssala University) and the Istituto Lombardo di Scienze e Lettere.

Grants & Awards: Recipient of two prestigious ERC grants (2013 & 2019) for projects on European economic and social reconciliation and crisis politics in the EU. Recognized with the Mattei Dogan Prize (2021) and Italian Republic's Grande Ufficiale honor (2012) for scientific merits.
Publications: Authored influential works such as The Welfare State in Italy (1984), The Boundaries of Welfare (2005), and Politics and Social Visions (2024). Co-edits Rivista di Scienza Politica and contributes to Routledge's editorial series.
