Maureen Gallace is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Art and Art Professions at the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, New York University. She holds a B.F.A. from The Hartford Art School at The University of Hartford and an M.F.A. from Rutgers University.
Her global exhibitions include major institutions such as the Art Institute of Chicago, Dallas Museum of Art, and the Douglas Hyde Museum in Dublin. Her work is featured in permanent collections at the Art Institute of Chicago, The Wadsworth Atheneum, The Whitney Museum, and the Dallas Museum. A catalog of her work with an essay by Rick Moody was published in 2005 by the Douglas Hyde Museum.
In addition to NYU, she has served as a visiting professor at UCLA, Cooper Union, and Harvard University. Her artistic practice focuses on painting and contemporary art, with critical acclaim from publications like Artforum, Frieze, and The New York Times.
