Maud Gonne is a Lecturer in Translation Studies (Dutch-French) at the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Liège. She serves as Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Translation and Interpretation (CIRTI) and is a board member of the Centre for Translation Studies (CETRA, KU Leuven). Her research focuses on translation history, cultural mediation, and sociocultural aspects of translation, with emphasis on multilingualism and cross-border cultural transfers.
She holds a PhD in Translation Studies from KU Leuven (2015) and has held postdoctoral fellowships at institutions including UNamur and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. Her work includes monographs and co-edited volumes exploring topics like Belgian cultural transfer networks and transregional European connections. Gonne actively bridges research and teaching, addressing modern challenges such as translation technology ethics and ecological translation practices.
Selected awards include the Marie Skłodowska-Curie IF Fellowship (2021) and FNRS research mandates. She teaches courses on Dutch-French translation theory and practice, literary translation, and translation sociology, integrating interdisciplinary perspectives to prepare students for evolving professional demands in a multilingual society.
